STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED: TURNING A BLIND EYE
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Jun 20, 2021 at 02:02:21 AM

Thanks to your support, the Scarface 1920 campaign is making steady progress, so we can welcome a new Associate, City Treasurer, to the base game. Ready for a dose of corruption?

In Scarface 1920, as we have been telling you in various updates, there is only one incorruptible figure, which is Eliot Ness. That means everything else is infested with guys that would sell their honor for a handful of dollars. In fact, corruption is something so present in the game that it is one of the Associates' Crime Type, linked mainly to businessmen, judges, policemen or, as the case at hand, politicians.

In this case, your criminal ally will be the City Treasurer, a three-star Associate that grants two Influence Points when it comes into play. The City Treasurer is the type that is in charge of managing municipal funds, so he can turn a blind eye when you carry out improvements to your gang.

Oh, and if you activate his secondary skill you can also collect a few "taxes" from other players. Who wouldn't want such an ally in his gang?

STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED: MORE MEN IN THE STREETS FOR ROTHSTEIN
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jun 19, 2021 at 12:08:44 PM

We said yesterday that you were very close to unlocking the third thug model of the rest of the bands... and the penultimate of them has fallen. Friends, let's welcome the new thugs of The Seven Gems.

The Seven Gems is Arnold Rothstein's gang, a guy known as The Brain and the most notorious gangster of the Jewish Mob. Rothstein is a businessman with important political connections who has made a criminal career in the world of gambling.

Considering the speed at which this Kickstarter travels, I would venture to say that we are going to unlock the third thug model for the latest band, North Side Mob, in the next few hours. Are we going for it?

STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED: THE LAST NEIGHBORHOOD
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jun 19, 2021 at 12:08:18 PM

We start with good news for all the Australian and Canadian backers. We have reached the minimum number of backers for the shipping price to be reduced. A small saving in the final price that always goes well, right? Congratulations! By the way, it's not the only good news...

When we started the Kickstarter campaign, the base Scarface 1920 game featured three different neighborhood models. The neighborhoods, you know, are an essential part in the fight for the throne of Chicago, since they allow the storage of alcohol and weapons, as well as being the place to carry out the sales of these supplies.

Thanks to the support you have given to the campaign, Scarface 1920 now has not four, not five, but six! different models of neighborhoods, each with its own sales formulas. Therefore, the sixth (and final) ward tile adds even more variety to games.

Could it be that we are already reaching the end of the stretch goals? Let me give you a tip: not even close. There are still many surprises from Scarface 1920 to unveil. Are we going for them?

STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED: READY TO THE ACTION
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jun 18, 2021 at 01:02:56 AM

Political favors, police control, bribes to judges and, of course, lots of bullets. It's the perfect cocktail of Scarface 1920, our first board game. By the way, do you know that you have just reached a new stretch goal?

Starting today, the base game has a new Associate, one of the criminal allies that you will hire to form the most powerful gang in Chicago. We are talking about the Contract Killer card, three stars and belonging to the Hitman type of crime, that is, to those guys who carry weapons even in their socks.

When Contract Killer comes into play, it grants one muscle point and one influence point to perform actions. In addition, and hence his name, it allows the player to use one of his guns to get rid of one of his enemies' characters. This is how bullies do their job.

His secondary skill isn't bad either: combined with another hitmen or a thief, it allows the player to use his guns to raid enemy neighborhoods with ease. Lovely, right? Who wouldn't want one like that by his side?

STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED: TIME FOR BIG BUSINESS
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jun 18, 2021 at 01:02:13 AM

Ding, ding, ding! Do you know what that noise is? Indeed, you have unlocked a new stretch goal! And be careful, because we are facing one of the most powerful jobs in Scarface 1920.

The basic game has 38 jobs, but during the campaign number 39 (Prison Escape) and number 40 (Increased Security) have already been unlocked. Now, thanks to the support Scarface 1920 is receiving, we have job number 41, entitled "Hidden Warehouse".

Hidden Warehouse means business, big business. Although the requirements to activate it are very high (use 5 muscle and pay 4 dollars), so is its reward. This job is placed under one of your dealers and it is automatically able to store five additional resources (alcohol and weapons). In addition, with this magnificent job you will also open a communication channel between your neighborhoods and your dealer, which will allow you to transfer resources from one place to another.

Remember that Scarface 1920 players will be able to carry out jobs of different types, some permanent and others instant, that will have an impact on the power of the gang, on the strength they have in the neighborhoods or on their political influence, among other things.

PS: By the way, sorry for the pace of updates. Our intention was to publish an update for every stretch goal, which in the first 48 hours has meant an excess of communication on our part. Now that the pace of the campaign is stabilizing, I think we will all be more comfortable with these communications. See you at the next stretch goal!
