Latest Updates from Our Project:

Cheer up: Scarface 1920 is now available in German!
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jun 26, 2021 at 01:14:16 AM

Good news to all of our backers! We have found an experienced Partner to make the German version happen and we can reduce the shipping costs from 22 EUR to 18 EUR for all German backers as well. You will be able to choose to receive the German version in the pledge manager at the end of this Kickstarter campaign.

The German version will be copublished by Grimspire after a successful Spieleschmiede Crowdfunding campaign. You will also be able to back our partners campaign there directly after this campaign has ended.

As you may know, we are working hard on adding new languages to the list before the end of the Kickstarter campaign. Stay tunned if your main language is not available yet.

KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE: THERE IS ONLY ONE LORD OF THE RING
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jun 25, 2021 at 11:43:17 PM

The Ring has awoken, it's heard its masters call (Gandalf, The Lord of the Rings)

One of the things we learned in The Lord of the Rings trilogy is that rings have power. A lot of power. In Scarface 1920 there are no wizards, no hobbits, no elves nor talking trees, but there is a ring. And from today, thanks to your support to the Kickstarter campaign, that ring is going to be as special as that of Frodo and company.

The Scarface 1920 ring is a symbol of power and prestige. Its bearer is the player who has just hired an Associate in the underworld. That Associate, as a show of respect, kisses the ring and agrees to keep the word that he has given to the boss of the gang. And you know what kind of agreements were made in the days of gangsters, right?

The basic version of the game offered a ring in the form of a token, but your support has caused it to become a spectacular jewel that each player must wear after hiring an Associate. It will not only be an aesthetic question: the owner of the ring, on his turn, will receive a financial reward and will have more possibilities to execute special skills with his Associates. A ring to rule them all…

By the way, have you already seen the following stretch goals? That The Enforcers - Expansion Pack looks good, right?

KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE: GOOD NEWS… KIND OF!
almost 3 years ago – Tue, Jun 22, 2021 at 03:11:05 AM

To all the Scarface 1920 backers, we let you know that the latest stretch goal unlocked comes with some good news… although it may not be the best description we've ever done. And we explain ourselves.

At the beginning, in the stretch goals thread we announced the arrival of a new News card. As you know, News are events that happen throughout the game of Scarface 1920, always linked to real events of the time, which change some of the rules and impact the development of the game.

Well, finally it is not one News card that you have just unlocked, but two! And best of all, they are both Kickstarter Exclusives, so only backers will have the opportunity to enjoy these two events that changed the course of Prohibition. Good news, right? Well, not so much if you look at the content of those cards:

"Big Jim" Colosimo Shot Dead: The first great leader of the Italian-American gang, embryo of The Chicago Outfit, was James "Big Jim" Colosimo, a guy born in Calabria (Italy) who built a criminal empire in Chicago based in prostitution, gambling and racketeering in the early 20th century.

With the advent of Prohibition, Big Jim refused to enter the bootlegging business, leading to profound differences with other prominent names in the band, such as Al Capone. The quickest solution Scarface found was to send Colosimo out of the way with a hail of bullets. Some say it was him, others say not, but no one doubts that it helped catapult Capone to power and unleash the gang war that took place later in Chicago.

Saint Valentine's Day Massacre: Another of Prohibition's infamous dates is Valentine's Day 1929. By then, Chicago had already become a paradise for organized crime, with bootlegging and arms smuggling as the main exponents. Fighting between rival gangs had littered the streets with blood and black-headed newspapers, but no day was as bloody as that of February 14, 1929.

That day, hatred between Italian Americans and Irishmen, between Capone's men and Bugs Moran (Dean O'Banion's replacement), between The Chicago Outfit and the North Side Mob, reached its zenith with the shooting of seven of North’ Side Mob men, who were gunned down in front of a wall at 2122 North Clark Street (Chicago's North Side). Al Capone, of course, had an alibi and the culprits were never found. Parts of that wall can be seen today in The Mob Museum in Las Vegas, one of the most important museums in the world dedicated to the mafia.

We’re working on the effect of both cards, but we know for sure that they will affect the territorial control of the gangs and the sales in the neighborhoods. Congratulations backers!

DOUBLE STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED… AND SOME NEWS!
almost 3 years ago – Mon, Jun 21, 2021 at 11:07:47 PM

Here we are again, although today with a special update. First and foremost, you have unlocked not one, but two stretch goals.

The first of them, which is also Kickstarter exclusive, is a new Job card, The Mole. As we have explained previously, Scarface 1920 players will be able to carry out jobs of all kinds, some instant and others permanent, which will affect the power of the band, the strength they have in the neighborhoods or their political influence, among other things. To get these jobs you will have to visit the Underworld, the favorite place of those who want the throne of Chicago.

A new job means, you know, more variety in the game and greater ability to develop new strategies. In this case, we are working on the specific impact the card will have on the game. Either way, welcome!

The second stretch goal that you have unlocked is, in addition to one of the most beautiful miniatures of Scarface 1920, the third model for the only missing band in the game, North Side Mob, that is, the Irish band led by Dean O’Banion.

The newcomer comes with his baseball bat and eager to "talk" about the control of bootlegging in the city, as you can imagine. With this stretch goal, as we said, each of the bands already has three different thug models on the streets of Chicago.

Regarding the news, the most sharp ones will have already found on our Kickstarter page a novelty in the Add-ons selection: an extra set of miniatures. There are 17 minis at a price of €25 that include the four bosses (Al Capone, Stephanie St. Clair, Arnold Rothstein and Dean O'Banion), Eliot Ness and 12 thugs (three per band, all different from each other).

This is an Add-on for those who want to paint them, to collect them, to use them in your models, to use them in other games ... or whatever you want. Enjoy it!

KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE: THE RUM ROUTE IS NOW OPEN
almost 3 years ago – Sun, Jun 20, 2021 at 03:38:02 AM

Didn't want you more exclusive stretch goals from Kickstarter? Well, you just unlocked another one. He is a dealer, his name is Rum Runner and, he doesn't fool anyone, he allows you to open a commercial route to fill your warehouses with rum.

As we have been explaining, a dealer is an agreement that a player closes to increase their supplies of alcohol and weapons, as well as to improve their storage capacity for these materials. In this case, the Rum Runner provides a storage unit, but also offers the possibility of getting a not inconsiderable amount of five barrels of alcohol for the use of three muscle points.

Rum Runner is the third dealer we unlocked in the Scarface 1920 campaign, all of them exclusive, and comes to give us some balance. The Peaky Blinders grants supplies of alcohol and weapons, while The Police Captain only supplies weapons. Now we have an exclusive one for alcohol, which, as we have already told you, is easier to obtain than pistols.

By the way, the next stretch goal is also a Kickstarter Exclusive and the other will come to complete the third model of thugs for all bands. Not bad, right?
